The Troop 160 Legacy
Troop 160, Pine Tree Council, BSA, was founded in 1969 in Lewiston, Maine. For its first 36 years, the troop was sponsored by the Holy Family Catholic Church. In 2005, the troop moved to St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Shortly thereafter, the Prince of Peace Parish became the troop's sponsor due to the consolidation of all of the Catholic Churches in the City of Lewiston. After 43 years of tenure, the troop was disbanded on August 20, 2012. The Prince of Peace Parish subsequently donated the assets of Troop 160 to Troop 160 Memorial Scout Camp; most of the camping gear was given away to scouting organizations throughout the state of Maine.
