Metal Roof For Adam's Cabin

Dear Friend of the MSC,

In October of 2010, Troop 160 Memorial Scout Camp was incorporated with the intent of purchasing a property in Osborn, Maine, to become a Memorial Scout Camp dedicated to the memory of Adam Beggs and Craig Goodwin; by September 2012, we had acquired a property formerly owned by Joe Beggs; this property has become the Memorial Scout Camp at Spectacle Pond.

In order to transform the camp into one fit for any scout group or outdoorsman, we have completed many capital improvement projects at the facility.
We established the Joe Beggs Waterfront, which features an aluminum docking system. We renovated Adam’s Cabin to include an 8 man bunkhouse in the loft and an open living area on the ground floor. We replaced the post and beam foundation that supports the cabin and installed a twelve foot by twenty foot roadside deck. All of these renovations were completed by the MSC Facilities Committee, an all volunteer group that maintains the property.

We have one last major improvement project on our list...And we need your help to get it done. We would like to install a metal roof on Adam’s Cabin. A new metal roof would insure that the cabin could house scouts for the next 50 to 70 years.

Our facilities committee will install the roof, but we need your financial support to buy the materials. We have determined that $5,000 is the amount needed to cover all costs related to the purchase and installation of a new roof.
