Dear Friends,
I am proud and privileged to be able to write the first Annual Report for Troop 160 Memorial Scout Camp. It is hard to believe that what began as a dream, on June 27th, has already become a reality.
During 2010, the activities of the Corporation have been limited to organizational efforts and preliminary fundraising.
In conclusion, I would like to thank all of the individuals who were responsible for transforming Troop 160 Memorial Scout Camp from a dream to a reality during the 2010 fiscal year. The efforts of the Board of Directors should be commended and the generosity of our donors should be appreciated.

- During July and August, Luc Caron and Alex Beggs met with the membership of Boy Scout Troop 160, Troop 160 alumni, and members of the Beggs family to discuss the possibility of establishing a Memorial Scout Camp in memory of Craig Goodwin and Adam Beggs.
- During September, the initial Board of Directors was recruited.
- On October 13, Troop 160 Memorial Scout Camp was certified as a non-profit charitable corporation by the State of Maine. The purpose of the Corporation is to raise the funds needed to purchase a lakefront property on Spectacle Pond in Osborn, Maine. Once a property is secured, the Corporation will establish and maintain a scout camp that will be made available, at little or no cost, to any scout, scout family, Troop 160 alumni, and members of the Beggs family.
- On November 7, the Board of Directors of the Memorial Scout Camp met to adopt bylaws and elect / appoint officers of the Corporation.
- On November 18, Luc Caron and Alex Beggs met with Joseph Beggs to finalize the Corporation’s agreement to purchase his property on Spectacle Pond. A verbal agreement was made to purchase the property in 2012 for a price of $50,000.
In conclusion, I would like to thank all of the individuals who were responsible for transforming Troop 160 Memorial Scout Camp from a dream to a reality during the 2010 fiscal year. The efforts of the Board of Directors should be commended and the generosity of our donors should be appreciated.
