A Magical Place Where the Spirit Lives
The Troop 160 Memorial Scout Camp began as a dream that was shared by Luc Caron & Alex Beggs during the summer of 2010. It was their ambition to acquire a camp and make it available, at little or no cost, to any scout.
Troop 160 Memorial Scout Camp is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization. The purpose of the corporation is to raise the funds needed to purchase a lakefront property on Spectacle Pond in Osborn, Maine. Once procured, the corporation will establish a scout camp in memory of Craig Goodwin and Adam Beggs. Both of these young men were active members of Troop 160, Lewiston at the time of their death.
Currently, Troop 160 Memorial Scout Camp has a verbal agreement to purchase a property owned by Mr. Joe Beggs. Although we do not anticipate having sufficient funds to purchase the camp until 2013, Joe Beggs has agreed to allow alumni and current members of Troop 160 use of the camp. For more information on how to use the camp, see here.
