A Magical Place Where the Spirit Lives

Picture
Troop 160 Memorial Scout Camp is an independent scouting organization and public, non-profit, charitable 501(c)(3) corporation dedicated to supporting the Worldwide Scouting Movement, promoting wilderness camping experiences, and sponsoring community service.  The members of the Board of Directors are all volunteers with countless years of scouting background.

In July 2012, the Directors raised the necessary funds to purchase a two-acre property located on the shores of Spectacle Pond in Osborn, Maine.
Upon acquiring the property, it was established as an independent scout camp in memory of Craig Goodwin and Adam Beggs.  Both of these young men were active members of Boy Scout Troop 160 in Lewiston, Maine at the time of their deaths.  The property features over two hundred feet of shoreline, a two-story cottage, and one established campsite.  The remote location of the property lends itself well to wilderness camping activities.

The Memorial Scout Camp at Spectacle Pond is available to be used by any scout, scout family, Troop 160 Alumni, and members of the public interested in wilderness camping experiences.  Presently, the camp is available at no cost.  It is hoped that the camp will truly become "A Magical Place, Where The Spirit Lives."

Interested in using the camp? We'd be glad to have you.
